It announced today that the paper’s editor-in-chief and managing director will be women, with both expected to take up positions at the paper next year.

“The Age will also consider hiring a diversity officer and will launch a diversity recruitment drive to recruit more women and minorities in the workplace.

The announcement comes after the paper announced earlier this year that it would be expanding its editorial and editorial staff in a bid to attract more women to its newsroom and to attract younger readers.

The Age is one of Australia’s largest newspapers with a circulation of more than 5 million.
