Al Jazeera has launched an internship programme for advertising interns.
This will allow journalists and other people interested in advertising to have a second job in the industry.
The internship is open to people from all backgrounds and backgrounds, from university graduates to those who are looking to enter the advertising industry as an intern.
It is a new initiative that is part of Al Jazeera’s new Al Jazeera Media Lab, which is designed to help journalism graduates develop their skills and expertise.
The internship will be a two-week programme.
Al Jazeera will not be providing any compensation for the internships.
The programme will be based in New York and the intern will work at an advertising agency in New Jersey.
The first week will be spent working on an internal project, while the second week will focus on writing stories and getting to know the clientele in New Jersey.
Internships are a key part of the job market, with a recent study by the National Association of Newspaper Publishers showing that more than 60 per cent of newspapers employ more than 100 advertising interns in their newsrooms.
Internships have also been used as a key recruiting tool for journalists, as they offer an escape from the pressures of working in an industry where they are often underpaid and undervalued.
Al Jazeera’s internship programme will give people from around the world an opportunity to work alongside some of the most talented and passionate journalists in the world, as well as to work closely with other journalists in an area of their expertise.
It will be the first time that an advertising internship programme has been opened in New Zealand.
“Our internship programme is a real opportunity for our staff to work with some of New Zealand’s most experienced and talented journalists.
We believe that this is an important step for our industry as we continue to make strides in making journalism more sustainable and accessible,” said Al Jazeera NZ Chief Operating Officer Mark Garlick.
“Internships allow our team to have the chance to meet and interact with a wide range of people who share their passion for journalism and are passionate about helping journalists build their careers in the digital media space.”
The internship programme launched in April.
The New York-based Al Jazeera team hopes to have interns working for the next three years, with more interns expected to start working for Al Jazeera New Zealand in the future.
“We are very excited to be launching an internship in New England,” said Garlicky.
“As part of our ongoing commitment to creating a better journalism ecosystem in New South Wales, we are looking for people with a broad range of experience, including senior journalism professionals, to come and join us in the New York office.”
